Government Polytechnic College Bandipora successfully organized a Legal Awareness Programme on Digital Frauds & Online Scams on 11th March 2026 (Wednesday) at 11:30 AM in the college campus.
The programme was conducted as per the Plan of Action/Calendar of Activities for March 2026 issued by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bandipora, in coordination with the Tehsil Legal Services Committee Bandipora and the Education Department Bandipora.
Objective of the Programme
The session aimed to create awareness among students and staff about the growing risks of digital frauds, cyber crimes, and online scams and to educate them about preventive measures, legal remedies, and safe digital practices.

The speakers delivered informative lectures highlighting different types of online frauds such as phishing, OTP scams, fake links, social media fraud, and financial cyber crimes. They also guided participants regarding legal provisions, reporting mechanisms, and precautions to stay safe in the digital world.
Address by College Administration
On the occasion, Er. Hakeem Javaid, Principal, along with Mr. Mohammad Saleem Ahanger, Incharge Academics, also briefed the students about the importance of digital safety, responsible use of the internet, and awareness of cyber threats in today’s digital era. They appreciated the initiative of the District Legal Services Authority Bandipora for organizing such an important awareness programme.
Participation
Faculty members, staff, and a large number of students actively participated in the programme and interacted with the resource persons by asking questions related to cyber security and legal protection.
