Subject: Engagement of Guest Faculty (On Temporary Basis) in Government Polytechnic College Bandipora for the Academic Session 2025-26.

ADVERTISEMENT NOTICE

Applications are invited in the prescribed format from the residents of UT Jammu & Kashmir for engagement as guest faculty purely on temporary basis for the academic year 2025-26. The engagement shall be purely on a temporary basis, and guest faculty will be terminated without any notice as and when the posts are filled on a regular basis or at the conclusion of the academic session, whichever is earlier.

Applicants shall submit the duly completed application form with all relevant documents enclosed to the office of the Principal of Government Polytechnic College Bandipora by or before 14-08-2025 up to 4 pm. No form shall be accepted after the expiry of the due date and time. The position (stream-wise) and terms & conditions are mentioned below.


Category | Minimum Qualification | Desirable Qualification

Guest Lecturer (Mechanical Engineering)
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks
Candidates having higher qualifications and experience will be given preference.

Guest Lecturer (Civil Engineering)
B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognised university with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks
Candidates having higher qualifications and experience will be given preference.

Guest Lecturer (Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Management)
Bachelor’s in Tourism from a recognised university with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks or a diploma in travel and tourism with first division
Candidates having higher qualifications and experience will be given preference.


Criteria for selection of candidate:

a. 80 points for basic qualification
b. 05 points for higher qualification
c. 05 points for teaching experience (polytechnic, diploma level, or higher level) on a pro rata basis. (01) Point for each academic year.
d. 05 points for GATE/NET/Ph.D.
e. 05 points for interaction/interview.


Terms and Conditions:

  1. The selection of the candidate for the engagement on Guest Faculty shall be made from eligible candidates purely on merit basis.
  2. Incomplete applications not supported with requisite documents shall be rejected without serving any notice to the candidate.
  3. The engagement of guest faculty will be temporary and purely based on the requirements of the institution and can be disengaged as and when required.
  4. The arrangement will remain in force for a maximum of one academic session only, up to 31-12-2025, and shall automatically cease thereafter.
  5. No pay/honorarium shall be paid during the vacation period.
  6. The arrangement will be purely temporary, which shall automatically cease/terminate at any time if any officer/official of the concerned subject/stream joins the Institute by way of transfer/promotion/fresh appointment. The guest faculty engaged against the post shall have no claim for continuation for the full academic year.
  7. The selected candidates shall have to execute an Affidavit/Agreement with the Institute in the prescribed format duly attested by the Judicial Magistrate to the effect that he/she will have no claim for permanent absorption in the department on the basis of this engagement for the specific period, at the time of joining, without which he/she will not be allowed to join.
  8. The candidates shall have to maintain proper discipline, punctuality, integrity, and good moral character during the period of engagement. Any indiscipline shall entail disengagement.
  9. The candidate shall work to the entire satisfaction of the principal and students.
  10. They shall be available in the Institute for doubt clearances of the students post their lecture delivery.
  11. The remuneration for the guest lecturer shall be Rs. 750/hour/lecture, subject to a maximum of Rs. 20,000 (twenty thousand rupees) per month.
  12. The engagement shall be purely on guest faculty norms and shall be only for one academic session.
  13. The Guest Teachers shall not be retained at any cost other than teaching and during the vacation or during the exams.

Eligibility Creteria 

i. Bachelor’s Degree with 55% marks in appropriate branch/discipline or equivalent from a recognized Institution/University.

ii. Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Science/Commerce with first class diploma in the relevant discipline from a recognized Institution/University.

iii. Diploma Holders first class in appropriate branch/discipline from a recognized Institution. Preference shall be given to the candidates from category-I. In case no candidate from this category is available then preference shall be given to the candidates from category-II. In case no candidate is available from this category also then candidates from category-III shall be taken.
